mental disorders are affected by substance abuse.
- 37 percent of alcohol abusers and 53 percent
of drug abusers also have at least one serious mental illness.
- Of all people diagnosed as mentally ill, 29
percent abuse either alcohol or drugs.

What is a Co-Occuring Disorder?
disorder is when a person has both a mental health disorder AND a substance abuse
disorder at the same time.

Co-occurring disorders were previously referred to as dual diagnoses. According to SAMHSA’s 2014 National Survey on
Drug Use and Health, approximately 7.9 million adults in the United States
had co-occurring disorders in 2014.

Will My Family Be Involved?
All services provided by Florida Social Solutions Inc., are confidential. We do not share information with anyone unless our client consents, and provides authorization for us to communicate with other
individuals in regards to the services they receive. Family involvement can be beneficial, because in many instances family can act as a system of support to a client in motivating the client
to continue onward with improved functioning. However, there are some instances in which family may be a detriment to the client's improvement. In all situations, Florida Social Solutions
Inc, does not share confidential information with family members unless our client consents, and allows their family to be involved with their treatment.
How OUR Services Help:
Florida Social Solutions Inc., is partnered with several substance treatment centers. We will meet with you to
discuss what your needs are as well as to review what centers may best service your needs. If you decide to have your family involved in this process, that is certainly okay and recommended.
Once you have decided in which treatment facility you would like to enter, we will work with the treatment facility to assist in your smooth entry. We will also follow up with you while
you are in treatment to monitor your progress and to ensure that the facility is effective in meeting your needs.
Should you be in need of transportation to go to the treatment facility, we will assist. We are partnered with several agencies that provide transportation assistance
resources that will assist in your transport into the treatment facility.
